Nintendo Switch Repair Guide: Joy-Con Drift, HDMI, Charging
Joy-Con drift is the #1 issue — caused by the carbon-contact analog stick wearing out. Replace the stick ($15-30 part) in about 20 minutes.
HDMI on the dock goes bad from stress on the small board inside the dock. Replacement of the HDMI IC is faster and cheaper than a new dock.
Charging port — USB-C ports collect lint and get stressed when kids plug at an angle. Cleaning can fix it; if not, a new port is a 30-minute job.
